Position Overview: Professional Accountant
As a Professional Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the independence of Florida’s seniors by ensuring timely payments to Aging Network Providers. This independent position applies accounting expertise across diverse fiscal transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit vendor invoices and process payments.
- Input financial transactions into FLAIR and MyFlorida Marketplace.
- Prepare and verify voucher summary reports.
- Record fiscal information in the Automated Contract Management System (ACMS).
- Research and code departmental deposits; transmit to Treasurer’s Office within three days.
- Reconcile Revolving Fund balances monthly.
- Address inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Maintain and organize accounting files and documentation.
- Assist with warrant cancellations and duplicate requests.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of FLAIR transactions, voucher auditing rules, state expenditure guidelines, and Florida Statutes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fundamental understanding of accounting and auditing principles.
Special Notes
- Preference will be given to current Department of Elder Affairs employees.
- Successful candidates must pass a Level 2 Criminal History Background Check.
