Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting regulations. The Staff Accountant will also play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of reports for management, including financial analysis and variance explanations.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and file necessary tax and compliance documents.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in accounts and financial data.
- Assist with audits, ensuring that all documentation is provided and questions are addressed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Stay current with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with public accounting experience being mandatory.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
