The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Guard to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a Security Guard, you will work under the direction of the Security Supervisor to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members while following company service and operational standards, and New York Lottery and New York Racing and Wagering regulations.

Shift:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:15 PM – 5:00 PM

Pay

$19.40 – $19.40 / hour

What will you do?

  • Greet guests positively and timely, demonstrating skill in dealing with customer complaints and defusing charged situations
  • Conduct cash escorts and patrol parking lot and ancillary buildings as assigned
  • Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity
  • Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floor
  • Maintain crowd control and a secure presence on the gaming floor
  • Operate motorized vehicle when necessary

More about you

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test
  • Must have a New York State Security Guard license
  • Must clear to be licensed by the NY State Gaming Commission
  • Ability to work across departmental lines with guests and vendors
  • Previous security supervisory or law enforcement experience preferred

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift, stand at assigned posts, and walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Ability to bend, climb, stoop, grasp, handle, lift and carry up to 35 pounds, reach, and push.
  • Visual ability to identify potential security violations.
  • Hearing ability to respond to the spoken voice and audible alarms.
