Excelsior Defense is now accepting applications for professional Unarmed Security Officers at our V.A. location in Albuquerque. As an employee working under a federal contract, officers receive a base wage of $16.20 per hour, with an additional $4.57 per hour disbursed through a 401(a) savings account or towards medical insurance.

Requirements include a valid unarmed security guard license in New Mexico, and candidates must complete a background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening to work on a federal site. These steps are arranged by Excelsior Defense after employment is offered.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, observing and investigating disturbances, lawfully defending life or property, apprehending criminals, documenting incidents, patrolling premises, monitoring access, operating alarm and surveillance systems, and performing first aid or CPR if needed.

Qualifications include proven security experience, a valid Class D Security License (note: the license mentioned is from Florida; this should be consistent with New Mexico requirements), ability to operate security equipment, knowledge of safety procedures, surveillance skills, integrity, professionalism, and a high school diploma.

This is a full-time position. Upon employment offer, candidates must undergo drug screening and a background check.
