SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Security Guard I is responsible for patrolling the premises of NEMS buildings to detect suspicious activity and ensure the safety of staff and patients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Greet and welcome incoming/outgoing patients in addition to providing basic information for the site, i.e., directions.
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Report in detail any suspicious incidents.
- May work any day of the week, depending on need.
- Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter.
- Monitor and control access to building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Follow advice from the Security II during critical/dangerous situations.
- Perform other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of current California State Guard or Proprietary Private Security Officer Card.
- High School certification preferred.
- Must be able to work any day of the week, depending on need.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a security role preferred.
LANGUAGE:
- Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English.
- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) preferred.
- Fluency in other languages is an asset.
STATUS:
- This is an FLSA Non-exempt position.
- This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
- This is a full-time position.
