Purpose

To provide the overall safety and security of our employees, guests, and facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor access control systems for all employees and guests, verify credentials, issue temporary I.D. badges.
• Monitor fire and alarm systems for the corporate office, Mentor facility, sales offices, and Distribution Centers. Constantly monitor radio communications.
• Act as the company's 911 (2222) and 6222 emergency response center.
• Serve as Incident Command emergency dispatch center for critical incidents. Dispatch ETMs for emergency response.
• Coordinate with local police and fire departments for emergency response.
• Patrol property, enforce parking guidelines, monitor surveillance equipment, and inspect buildings. Monitor vehicle access at the truck gate, verify manifests, and inspect vehicles.
• Maintain security logs.
• Direct and monitor railroad traffic in and out of the facility to ensure safety.
• Interpret and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures. Irregular work schedules required.
• Represent the company effectively to all guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager.

Basic Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the State of Ohio approved minimum 205 hours of Ohio Private Police training or willingness to complete training at own expense within a company-approved timeframe.
• Associates degree in Criminal Justice or three years' experience with a security agency or police department preferred.
• Meet standards expected of law enforcement officers (civil or military). Excellent organizational skills.
• Highly motivated, quick learner, quality conscious, and proactive.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Alert, calm, and decisive under stress.
• Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends. Excellent attendance record required.
• Ability to walk up to two miles per shift and climb steps.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
