Punahou School is actively recruiting a Full Time Regular Security Guard to join the Campus Safety and Security team! The Security Guard focuses on maintaining a visible presence in public areas, observing incidents, acting, and notifying others according to established school protocols. The Security Guard will patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent or deal with incidents such as theft, vandalism, fire hazards, disorderly conduct, and violations of school regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, exercise good judgment and initiative, and have excellent communication skills. Position Details:
- Work Year: 12 Months
- Work Hours: Morning Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Swing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.
- Minimum Hourly Rate: $18.66/Hour. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications. Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service or a related field required.
- One (1) year of work experience and/or training in law enforcement or security preferred.
- Possession of a guard card/license and approved registration with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives & Guards; Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs Division (DCCA).
- If the incumbent does not have a current HI guard card/license, they will be required to obtain one within six (6) months from starting the job.
- Current and valid Hawaii Driver’s License.
- First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required. If not possessed, must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
- Proficiency in using email, Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), and Google applications.
- Knowledge of guard certification classroom instruction, including passing a written test and on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of campus protocols and procedures to ensure safety in campus buildings and grounds.
- Proficient operation of radio communication equipment.
- Knowledge of campus systems such as Alarm Monitoring, Electronic Locks, Fire Alarms, Elevators, HVAC, Lighting, and AV.
- Knowledge of social customer service techniques, including crisis mitigation skills.
