$18.00 - $20.00 USD Per Hour
Working Location:
Long Beach, CA
Working Hours/Shift:
SAT - MON: 7 PM - 7:30 AM

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years’ experience in a relevant field OR
- AA degree in a related mental health field and one (1) year experience in a relevant field.
- Relevant experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or adults in inpatient or outpatient settings where safety and security are primary focus.
- Valid California Driver's License and clear DMV printout preferred.
- Valid CPR/BLS certification.
- Valid Security Guard Registration with California BSIS or commitment to register within 90 days of employment.
How you will make a difference (Job Overview):
The Safety Specialist provides high-level customer service by maintaining a safe environment for clients, visitors, staff, and physicians through direct and indirect interactions, monitoring activities, screening for contraband, inventorying property, controlling access, and responding to emergencies.
Division/Program Overview:
- 24/7 outpatient program
- Rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support
- Walk-in’s welcome
- Clients may stay up to 24 hours
- Serves 12 adults and 6 adolescents

In accordance with California law, the grade for this position is 17.71 - 24.79. Placement within the grade is based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
