• Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
• Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
• Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
• Must work well as part of a team.
• Measure distance from grade stakes.
• Drive stakes.
• Stretch tight line.
• Grade stacks from lumber for reuse.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications with shovel to assist in pipe laying, and preparing sub grades and other excavations.
• Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms.
• Erect shoring and braces and paint pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Assist in setting pumps and well-points.
• May assist heavy construction equipment operators in aligning and moving equipment such as cranes, power shovels, and backhoes, verifying grades, and signaling operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications.
• Direct truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by the grading or dumping foreman.
• Work in a concrete paving crew, adding or removing concrete in front of finishing machines to meet the correct grade.
• Occasionally use small power tools.
• May work as lead man in a labor crew.
• Exercise independent judgment to plan routine work, accept responsibility for multiple phases, and expedite work without detailed instructions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with setting pumps, well-points, and equipment.
• Help heavy equipment operators and direct truck and scraper drivers.
• Work in concrete paving and use small power tools.
• Lead labor crews when assigned.
• Exercise judgment and responsibility independently.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Some construction/industrial/general labor experience.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
• Complete New Hire Orientation Quiz.
• Must not pose a safety threat to self or others.
• Adhere to site safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE.
• Pass physical exams as required.
• Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs. or more with assistance if needed.
• Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
• Maintain a clean-shaven appearance and wear respirators if required.
