Reports To: Lead Teacher/Director
Position Overview: Our Children's Place is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. The teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum, foster social and emotional growth, and ensure the physical and mental well-being of all children in their care.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and federal educational standards.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including storytelling, games, and hands-on activities to facilitate learning.
- Incorporate play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
- Provide individualized support to students as needed.
Parent Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and development.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and any concerns.
Professional Development:
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Stay current with educational research and best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Previous experience teaching in an early childhood setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and parents.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 40 pounds.
- Able to sit on the floor and interact with children at their level.
- Perform duties both indoors and outdoors.
Working Conditions:
