Hosanna Farm Childcare in Alexandria, TN is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our nature-based Christian childcare team. Hosanna Farm Childcare in Alexandria, TN is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our nature-based Christian childcare team. As a Lead Teacher, you’ll be responsible for planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum, creating a safe and nurturing learning environment, and guiding Assistant Teachers in supporting each child’s growth and development.
Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver daily lessons and activities based on developmental milestones
- Create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers and classroom volunteers
- Track and document children’s developmental progress
- Communicate effectively with parents and provide regular updates on their child’s growth
- Maintain compliance with Tennessee childcare licensing requirements and center policies
- Organize classroom materials, resources, and schedules
- Support outdoor learning and nature-based activities
- Manage daily routines, meals, and transitions smoothly
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred)
- Ability to meet all Tennessee childcare licensing requirements, including background checks and health clearances
- At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare setting (2+ years preferred)
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors
- Willingness to complete required CPR/First Aid and child development training
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their growth
Nice To Haves
- CDA credential or degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience leading a classroom in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Familiarity with nature-based or outdoor learning programs
- Experience integrating Christian values into the learning environment
- Knowledge of developmental assessments and lesson planning
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish)
- Food handling certification
