Training hours: 50-60 hours of training.
About the Role:
The Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs for UFIT coaches and staff. This position ensures that all team members receive consistent, high-quality professional learning aligned with UFITs philosophy of promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, social-emotional learning, and student engagement. The Coordinator will also track staff performance, identify areas for growth, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Development
- Design, schedule, and facilitate onboarding training for new coaches.
- Develop and deliver monthly professional development sessions (in-person and virtual).
- Ensure training integrates UFITs curriculum, positive behavior management, and safety standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to staff.
- Program Quality Assurance
- Observe staff in the field and provide constructive feedback.
- Create evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and staff performance.
- Collaborate with site coordinators and leadership to align training with school needs.
- Curriculum Support
- Train coaches in implementing sports-specific and PE curriculum for K8th grade.
- Update and refine curriculum materials as needed.
- Administrative
- Maintain training records and certification requirements.
- Coordinate external training opportunities (CPR, first aid, sports certifications, etc.).
- Support compliance with district and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field (preferred).
- At least 2 years experience working in a school setting (instructional, behavioral, or operations-focused roles)
- Strong understanding of school structure, discipline systems, and professional communication
- Confident, calm, and clear presence with both students and adults
- Ability to lead by example and enforce expectations with professionalism and empathy
- Reliable and consistentable to model follow-through and hold others accountable
- At least 2 years Experience as a Behavior Coach, Instructional Coach, or PD Facilitator
- Background in behavior intervention, restorative practices, or compliance
- Comfortable giving feedback to peers and staff
