Summary

Almond Tree is a small, vibrant in-home preschool located in the heart of Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. Our mission is to nurture young children and facilitate joyful learning in a safe, cheerful, responsive environment that supports their holistic development. Our bright spacious classroom accommodates a mixed-aged age group of 12 children, including 3K children.

Start Date:September 3rd, 2025
Schedule:Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay:$20 – $25 per hour
Hours:Approximately 35-40 hours per week

Duties

• Bring warmth, joy, and care to the program
• Supervise and actively engage children with warmth and care
• Support daily routines (arrival, circle time, small large group activities, meals, diapering/toileting, rest, transitions, departure)
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities
• Observe and document children’s learning and behavior
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Communicate with families and participate in parent-teacher conferences
• Assist with recordkeeping, compliance, and inspections

Requirements

• Associates in Early Childhood Education or at least 15 credits in Early Childhood Education with a study plan plus 2 years experience working with young children
• Ability to complete fingerprint and pass a background check with the Department of Health
• Valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
• Ability to take walk, kneel, bend, squat or crawl and lift 30 lbs
