Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position is ideal for an energetic, creative individual who is committed to providing a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Head Start Performance Standards and passionate about fostering each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure school readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement The Creative Curriculum for Preschool
Create a warm, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
Use individualized instruction and positive behavior guidance strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation on child progress, attendance, and assessments in accordance with program requirements.
Foster strong partnerships with families by maintaining open communication and encouraging family involvement in the educational process.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children by following all licensing regulations and organizational policies.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and administrators to ensure high-quality program implementation.
Participate in ongoing professional development, training sessions, and team meetings.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (CDA credential considered with relevant experience).
Working knowledge of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, the Head Start Performance Standards, and early childhood best practices.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
Must successfully pass all required background checks.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
A sincere passion for working with young children and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
