All applicants must align with our mission of encouraging the development of each individual student, spiritually, intellectually, academically, physically, and socially, through an educational program that promotes excellence and places Christ at the center of all things.

We currently have an opportunity for substitute teachers for all grade levels Kindergarten through High School. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides the instruction to students by following instructional plans and materials and presenting them using instructional techniques which meet the needs of all students.
  • Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students.
  • Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings and activities.
  • Monitors and evaluates student performance, as/when appropriate.
  • Follows all required school procedures and practices.
  • Follow lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials.
  • Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Enables each student to achieve learning objectives.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following

  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a demonstrated commitment to the OCCS Statement of Faith and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied capacities.
  • Active involvement in a local church.
  • Consistent in modeling the qualities of a Christian mentor who embodies the values which create our OCCS culture.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
