Joliet Montessori School has been educating children in the Will County community for 60 years!

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher to work with students aged 6-9 years.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the Montessori philosophy and a genuine desire to create a classroom environment where each child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children, using the Montessori method to guide their development and learning. The candidate would co-teach alongside a lead teacher for SY2025-26 and plan to become the Lead Teacher in a new lower elementary classroom for SY2026-27.

Qualifications:

• Montessori Lower Elementary Certification (AMI or AMS) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Montessori classroom, preferably with Lower Elementary-aged children.
• A deep understanding of Montessori philosophy and practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
• Ability to collaborate with a team of educators and staff.
• Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
