This opportunity is for a Teacher at Merck child care centers located at West Point and Upper Gwynedd. The centers provide child care for Merck employees and are located on the Merck campus. Merck centers are NAEYC accredited and feature spacious, state-of-the-art facilities with thoughtfully designed playgrounds, a STEM lab, a Cooking room, and a focus on summer gardening.

There is a $2,000 hiring incentive for new Teachers, paid out after 100 days of employment. This role emphasizes creating a safe, nurturing environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth, and collaborating with a dynamic team to create engaging curriculum.

Physical requirements include compliance with applicable immunizations, employment physicals, screening, and health and safety training as required by federal, state, local, Bright Horizons, and client site requirements. Responsibilities

  • Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and share daily milestones.
  • Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children.
  • Experience and education options include one of the following:
  • 5 years of teaching experience in a group childcare setting with a high school diploma and willingness to obtain a CDA upon hire; OR a BA/AA in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or human services; OR a CDA with one year of group childcare experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in relevant early childhood fields and 1 year of experience with children; OR an associate’s degree in a relevant field with 2 years of experience with children.
