Position Overview

The Delivery Driver at Platinum Pool Service is responsible for transporting pool equipment, chemicals, and other materials to residential and commercial locations efficiently and safely. This role requires an individual who is reliable, safety-conscious, and skilled at providing excellent customer service. The Delivery Driver will also assist with unloading and setting up products, ensuring smooth operations within the company’s logistics team.

Core Responsibilities

Safe and Timely Deliveries

  • Transport pool maintenance equipment, chemicals, and supplies to designated locations within the required timeframes.
  • Verify all orders are correct before departure and ensure deliveries match customer requests.
  • Safely navigate routes, adhering to all traffic laws and road safety practices.
  • Customer Service
    • Maintain professionalism during interactions with clients, ensuring positive and helpful communication.
    • Assist with unloading items and provide basic explanations or demonstrations of the products when necessary.
    • Address customer inquiries, direct them to the appropriate team member if needed, and resolve minor issues promptly.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
    • Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it’s in good working order and safe for driving.
    • Perform routine checks on fuel, tires, and essential systems to prevent delays and breakdowns.
    • Report vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately to the Operations Manager.
  • Inventory and Documentation
    • Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including obtaining client signatures when required.
    • Track inventory and alert the warehouse team when stocks are low or when delivery discrepancies occur.
    • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle to ensure efficiency and prevent damage to goods.
  • Compliance with Safety and Environmental Standards
    • Handle and transport pool chemicals and materials in compliance with safety regulations.
    • Adhere to environmental safety guidelines when delivering hazardous or sensitive products.
    • Complete daily logs and vehicle inspections as required.
  • Timeliness and Efficiency
    • Follow scheduled routes and prioritize timely deliveries, managing time effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Adapt to last-minute changes in schedules or deliveries, maintaining flexibility.

Key Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver, particularly in a related field, preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent driving skills and safety awareness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
