Auto Body Supplies and Paint is the family-owned and operated leading supplier of BASF products in the North East.

The Delivery Driver ensures safe, efficient, timely, and reliable deliveries to customers. This position is the primary face-to-face point of contact between the company and our customers. Therefore, the Delivery Driver needs to present himself/herself professionally and is responsible for keeping the company delivery vehicle clean and in good condition. The Delivery Driver is also accountable for assisting in the preparation of customer orders, inventory management, and equipment maintenance within the store and in select shops.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, and skills):

  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • Work conditions include lifting, standing, physical labor, and outdoor work (all weather conditions).
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving parts up to 50-lbs and occasionally assisting in moving 500-pound drums.
  • Must be able to repeatedly bend, crouch, kneel, twist, turn or stoop to ground level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves (8 feet) with the use of a stool or ladder.
  • Must be able to work on your feet (stand or walk) for the assigned work shift.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving – up to 75% of the day.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude are a must.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must have an understanding of relevant laws & government regulations.
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, and professional and have the ability to work well with little supervision.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely drive a company vehicle to transport and deliver customer orders or pick up incoming stock, following all delivery policies and procedures, including the use of seat belts.
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs and cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures by following the recommended vehicle maintenance schedule.
  • Inspect and maintain the vehicle, check fuel level and oil, make sure that the brakes, windshield wipers, and lights are working and that safety equipment is aboard and in working order, informing the Store Manager of any problems, whether mechanical or otherwise.
  • Load and unload vehicles ensuring that cargo is properly secured and protected from the elements.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the store including, but not limited to, customer service, paint mixing, shipping, receiving, updates of Color-Max, color scans, and inventory control to ensure the smooth operations of the business and sales.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment through cleaning of company vehicles and regular housekeeping in work areas and removing trash as required.
  • Assist in physical inventory as directed.
  • Follow all waste control procedures as per company policy and government regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
