This position involves delivering products to stores on established routes or via dynamic dispatch to various customer locations, including convenience stores, gas stations, small supermarkets, and drug stores. The typical route includes an average of 15-20 stops per day. Responsibilities include driving the delivery vehicle, unloading products, and bringing them into the store. The role also involves ongoing rotating and stocking of products on store shelves, displays, vending equipment, and in coolers. Building displays and setting up promotional materials such as signage and banners are also key tasks. The driver generates invoices and is responsible for daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management is expected.
This position is physically demanding, requiring lifting, loading, and pushing/pulling a high volume of cases daily, with cases weighing between 20-45 pounds. It also involves reaching, squatting, and bending during deliveries and merchandising, often under various weather conditions. During peak seasons, long work hours may be required.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Deliver products, serve customers, and execute promotions at multiple stores daily.
- Operate trucks requiring an appropriate CDL license, including basic driving functions and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of each workday.
- Merchandise and rotate products according to local standards, including filling shelves, building displays, and removing out-of-date products.
- Push and pull pallet jacks, hand trucks, and breakdowns to move products to and from the truck.
- Establish positive relationships with primary contacts at each account.
- Comply with operating procedures, such as scan-in/scan-out and following designated routes.
- Communicate effectively with customers, building rapport and attentiveness to their needs.
- Follow DOT regulations.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
