Overview
Delivery Driver role at Class A Drivers. Position delivers products to stores on an established route or via dynamic dispatch to customers including convenience and gas stores, small supermarkets, drug stores, etc. Typical route includes an average of 15-20 stops per day. The driver unloads and brings products into the store and participates in ongoing rotating and stocking of products on store shelves, displays, vending equipment, and in coolers. Builds displays and sets up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. Generates invoices and is responsible for daily settlement of cash and charges. Regular interaction with store management is expected.
This position is labor-intensive, requiring lifting, loading and pushing/pulling a significantly high volume of cases per day (20-45 pounds per case). It involves reaching, squatting, and bending during delivery and merchandising activities and may require long work hours during peak seasons and in various weather conditions.
Primary Accountabilities include delivering products, serving customers, and executing promotions across multiple stores each day.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products, serve customers, and execute all promotions to multiple stores each day
- Operate trucks requiring an appropriate CDL license (e.g., basic driving functions like forward/backward movement and maneuvering in tight spaces)
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of the daily shift
- Merchandise and rotate accounts to local standards (filling shelves, building displays, maintaining attractive product presentation, rotating stock, cleaning shelves, refilling out-of-stocks, removing expired products, etc.)
- Push and pull pallet jacks and hand trucks to move products to and from the truck
- Establish positive working relationships with primary contacts at each account
- Comply with operating procedures (scan-in/scan-out, following designated route, etc.)
- Serve customers with effective communication, rapport, and attentiveness to needs
- Follow DOT regulations
- Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance
Qualifications & Requirements
- CDL license appropriate for the route
- Ability to lift 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly and perform related physical tasks
- Comfort with long hours during peak seasons and exposure to varied weather conditions
- Willingness to engage in merchandising, stocking, and promotional setup
- Ability to communicate effectively with store staff and management
