Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and Federal and State regulations, delivering all freight undamaged. Work as a team to load/unload materials and deliver while providing a world-class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
  • Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload at commercial and residential job sites.
  • Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
  • Lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
  • Provide excellent customer service and a professional attitude.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Minimum Class B; Class A strongly preferred.
  • Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle about 40% of the time.
  • Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs for loading/unloading; frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Move from unloading materials from the vehicle onto the job site; operate the vehicle and boom as needed.
  • Judge distance when delivering materials or operating a boom.
  • Communicate effectively with management and coworkers.
  • Work in an outdoor environment while making deliveries.

Required Cognitive Skills

  • Prioritize job sites and deadlines; manage stress and multitask.
  • Receive information and directions; quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement.
