Position: Receptionist
Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: $19-$22 per hour
Job Type: Full-time

A Successful Candidate:

• Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
• Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
• File and maintain records.
• Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
• Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
• Sort inner office mail as well as distribute incoming mail and send out payroll envelops.
• Provide information about establishments, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
• Keep a current record of staff members’ whereabouts and availability.
• Take orders for merchandise or materials, while price matching at various suppliers, and send them to the proper departments to be filled.
• Complete collections calls.
• Do statements stuffers as well as voucher invoices.
• Inventory various supplies, including FedEx supplies, coffee supplies, work forms, etc.

Skills:

• Past experience as a receptionist or in a clerical/office setting is required.
• Strong computer usage skills: including but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Databases, Account Software, Spreadsheets, and the Internet.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of a fax machine/copier/scanner, and a multi-line phone system.
