Overview
Provide general administrative and clerical support. Greet and welcome patients, clients, and other visitors with a friendly and positive demeanor. Answer telephone calls and take messages or forward calls. Check visitors in and direct or escort them to specific destinations; Inform other employees of visitors' arrivals and cancellations. Maintain visitor sign in log. Handle incoming and outgoing mail. Schedule appointments and maintain meeting room bookings. Maintain and tidy the reception area. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
Supervisory Requirements
This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Previous administrative or receptionist experience preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, clerical functions and multiline phone system.
- Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk, read or hear. Frequent use of office equipment such as copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
