Job Summary

Performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties related to patient admissions.

Reports to: Practice Office Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

Essential Functions

  • Ensures demographic, billing, and clinical information is accurately entered in the registration system.
  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family members.
  • Pre-visit meetings with patients or caregivers to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions.
  • Communicates with medical staff regarding patient admission and placement.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains necessary authorizations; handles co-pays and deductibles or refers to financial counselors.

Nonessential Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in staff meetings, training, and committees.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Works scheduled shifts, including overtime if necessary.
  • Maintains professional appearance according to dress code.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)

Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, handle stressful situations appropriately.
