Position Description

The Receptionist & Switchboard Operator provides exceptional front-desk service by greeting and assisting all visitors, and managing a high-volume switchboard by answering and transferring incoming calls from across the United States. This role helps maintain a welcoming office environment and supports general administrative functions.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, clients, and employees professionally.
  • Distribute visitor badges to temporary employees and guests.
  • Schedule and manage meeting room bookings.
  • Answer and transfer incoming calls nationwide using the switchboard system.
  • Participate actively in company and community service events.
  • Perform light administrative duties and basic PC support.
  • Uphold and represent the company’s Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal teams.

Update And Maintain

  • Company phone list and speed dial list
  • Brag Board
  • Company calendar
  • Automated messaging center (daily)
  • Support administrative teams with tasks such as creating labels, compiling manuals, and more
  • Order, manage, and distribute items for the company’s Promotional Store
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Certifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of prior switchboard or receptionist experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and a collaborative mindset.
  • Clear, professional verbal communication.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature.
  • Work is primarily sedentary with some walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • May occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs (e.g., files, supplies).
  • Requires moderate manual dexterity and coordination (keyboard use, hand tools, etc.).
  • Ability to handle diversified tasks and interpret complex materials or instructions.
