AM/PM/NOCS Caregiver

Job Title: Caregiver 1

Hours Worked: 40 hours per week

Qualifications: 1. Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have ability to follow directions.
  • Shall have criminal record clearance prior to presence in the facility
  • Shall have a health screening and TB test, performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to employment. The TB test results will be received within seven (7) days of employment; the health screening report will be received within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Shall have appropriate training in first aid from persons qualified by such agencies as the American Red Cross.

Duties:

  1. Debrief with previous shift. Ensure all residents are present, and that alarms (bed and chair) are on the residents who need them.
  2. Toilet residents and assist with other care needs. Shower scheduled residents. Always rinse, bag and, if necessary, wash wet or soiled laundry immediately. Use proper hand washing.
  3. Take 10 min break
  4. Assist residents to dining room and serve dinner. Observe residents during meal time and assist if necessary.
  5. Clear dining room tables. Document food percentages. Take dishes and utensils to the dishwasher.
  6. Take 30-minute lunch break at 6:00pm.
  7. Shower scheduled residents. Assist resident’s toileting and with getting on pajamas, personal hygiene and getting into bed. Always rinse, bag and wash wet or soiled laundry immediately. Use proper hand washing.
  8. Take 10 min break
  9. Assist with laundry or housekeeping duties in facility as needed.
  10. Toilet residents and assist with other care needs. Perform two-hour checks throughout the shift on all residents.
  11. Document nightly resident information.
  12. Debrief with oncoming shift. Do walk around and check on residents. Ensure all residents are present, and that alarms (bed and chair) are on the residents who need them.
  13. Perform all other duties as assigned depending on the needs of the department.
