Job Title: Assisted Living Caregiver

Reports To: Wellness Director / Executive Director

Position Summary:
The Assisted Living Caregiver is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care and support to residents in an assisted living community. This position ensures residents’ safety, dignity, and well-being by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting independence, and fostering a supportive home-like environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and feeding as needed.

  • Support residents with medication reminders and documentation per community policies and state regulations.

  • Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the Wellness Director or appropriate supervisor.

  • Assist residents with meals, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with residents, families, and fellow team members.

  • Participate in care plan meetings and follow individualized service plans for each resident.

  • Engage residents in meaningful daily activities and encourage socialization to promote overall well-being.

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs, including emergencies.

  • Adhere to all community policies, procedures, and state regulations regarding resident care and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, or healthcare preferred.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Aide (PCA) certification preferred but not always required.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting older adults with dignity and respect.

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed.

  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and meet state-specific training requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Assisted living community setting.

  • May require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with mobility.
