Qualifications:
- Minimum High School diploma and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of home health care preferred
- Previous experience as a caregiver or similar role preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively within a team
Essential Functions:
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
- Provide support with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
- Medication Reminders:
- Provide reminders for medication according to prescribed schedules
- Support clients in managing their medication routines.
- Meal Preparation and Nutrition:
- Assist with meal planning and preparation, adhering to dietary requirements.
- Monitor and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Companionship and Social Interaction:
- Engage clients in meaningful conversations and companionship.
- Accompany clients to appointments and social activities.
- Health Monitoring:
- Observe and report changes in clients' health status to the care team.
- Document care provided and any notable observations.

Position Physical Demands:
- Assisting with mobility: Helping clients in and out of bed, chairs, wheelchairs, or other positions.
- Safe Patient Handling: Following protocols for safe patient transfers, potentially involving mechanical lifts or assistance from others, especially with patients weighing over 35 pounds.
- Carrying: Transporting supplies, equipment, and sometimes assisting clients with belongings.
- Prolonged Standing: Spending extended periods on your feet.
- Walking and running: Moving within the client's home and potentially accompanying them on errands or appointments.
- Bending, twisting, and reaching: Performing tasks like assisting with personal care, housekeeping, or reaching for supplies.
- Kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling: Depending on the client's needs and the home environment.
- Climbing stairs: Assisting clients on stairs or navigating multi-level homes.
