SUMMARY:  Oversees all internal and external marketing initiatives that impact the company and its core products. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Marketing Strategy and Communications Plan. This includes ensuring a consistent global brand image and messaging, managing public perception of the company and its offerings, and overseeing the creation of communication software and media projects for employees, sales representatives, and customers. The company primarily engages in business-to-business (B2B) sales, with all products manufactured domestically in the USA, and distributed globally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Annual Marketing Plan: Develop and manage the budget for the annual marketing plan.
  • Marketing Communications: Lead the creation and execution of internal and external marketing communications, including promotional and advertising activities.
  • Innovation: Proactively seek innovative strategies to expand the business and enhance brand presence, with a focus on B2B markets.
  • Promotional Activities: Collaborate with managers to develop and implement promotional activities that elevate product and brand awareness, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality execution.
  • Project Management: Conceive, develop, schedule, assign, and manage marketing projects, including promotional materials, sales tools, advertisements, email campaigns, and direct mail initiatives.
  • Product Marketing: Work with company managers to determine the marketing focus for each product, effectively blending content with strategic messaging for both domestic and international markets.
  • Global Strategy: Collaborate with management to develop and execute a cohesive global marketing communications plan, with an emphasis on expanding international market reach.
  • Content Management: Oversee the development of external marketing assets, ensuring alignment with key messages, positioning, and differentiators in support of the marketing strategy.
  • Production Oversight: Supervise the production, design, and scheduling of all marketing materials. Manage projects involving external vendors, including design agencies, print vendors, media outlets, and mail vendors.
  • Brand Management: Ensure adherence to corporate quality standards across all marketing materials and messaging.
  • Program Effectiveness: Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing programs using established systems, market research feedback, and direct customer input.
  • Public Relations: Oversee all press releases, media relations, and press kits. Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts.
  • PR Strategy: Create and implement comprehensive PR campaigns for core products and new product launches, monitoring and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and manage marketing expenses within the allocated budget, making necessary adjustments throughout the year.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with management to develop and manage digital sales tools and media related to sales force automation and presentations.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee global coordination and management of trade shows and external exhibitions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This role supervises 1 - 3 employees within the marketing department.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Competence in digital photography, studio lighting, graphic design, interface design, scriptwriting, video production, and editing.
  • Familiarity with printing processes, technology, and media buying.
  • Knowledge of international marketing is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, plus a minimum of five years of experience and/or training in database design and GUI, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in scriptwriting, video production, and video editing is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:   Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions. Proficient in writing press releases, correspondence, and reports. Capable of effectively presenting information to groups of customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Understanding of typography, copywriting, and print communications, with a strong grasp of business communication and narrative story structure.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
