What You'll Do
- Direct, coordinate, and implement all plant marketing activities
- Lead marketing personnel in a professional manner towards achieving performance goals
- Establish marketing goals, both financial and non-financial
- Investigates new potential sources of consumers of scrap metal. Buys from retail, dealer, industrial customers, repair shops, demolition projects, clean-ups, etc
- Maintains accurate records of all buying/sourcing and prospecting activities including closed sales and follow-up activities
- Participates in a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail, email & networking
- Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards
What You'll Need
- 6-8 years in a metal recycling facility or other related industry
- Successful track record of generating new business
- Prior experience with pricing & proposal models with the ability to hedge pricing
- Experience selling into the metals distribution industry
- Ability to manage and lead a team
- Must be able to buy material at a margin and profit to support the plant's marketing goals
- Customer Service focused and collaborative as appropriate with internal and external contacts with broad knowledge of marketing and sales practices
- Demonstrate leadership and customer service consistent with CMC's Values.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and provide coaching, skills development, guidance and support to team members
- Exceptional leadership and team building skills
Your Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field required
