Marketing Analytics Manager

San Francisco Bay Area

Serena & Lily, a direct-to-consumer, luxury home furnishings company - is looking for a The Marketing Analytics Manager is responsible for leveraging data and analytics to uncover insights that inform and optimize marketing strategies across all retail channels (e-commerce, brick-and-mortar stores, direct mail, email, social media, paid advertising, etc.). This role reports to the SVP, Marketing and will develop robust measurement frameworks, build insightful dashboards, conduct deep-dive analyses, and provide actionable recommendations to drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, curious, and collaborative individual who can translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategic Analytics & Insights:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing analytics strategies to measure the effectiveness and ROI of all marketing campaigns and initiatives across online and offline channels.
    • Conduct in-depth analyses of customer behavior, purchase patterns, channel performance, and promotional effectiveness to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Perform customer segmentation, churn analysis, lifetime value (LTV) modeling, and acquisition cost analysis to inform targeting and resource allocation.
    • Identify key growth levers and propose data-driven solutions to optimize customer journeys, improve conversion rates, and enhance personalization efforts.
    • Digest and distill sometimes complex analyses into clear, simple, and actionable insights.
  • Measurement & Reporting:
    • Define, track, and report on key marketing KPIs (e.g., traffic, conversion rates, AOV, ROAS, LTV, customer acquisition cost, customer retention rates) for all channels.
    • Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma, Looker Studio) to provide accessible insights to marketing, executive, and cross-functional teams.
    • Establish and refine MMM and multi-touch attribution models to accurately measure the contribution of different marketing touchpoints to sales across channels.
  • Experimentation & Optimization:
    • Provide data-backed recommendations for A/B tests, creative optimization, audience targeting, bidding strategies, and channel mix.
    • Analyze and inform design for A/B tests and multivariate tests across marketing channels (e.g., website, email, paid ads) to optimize campaign performance and user experience.
  • Data Management & Governance:
    • Collaborate closely with Technology, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across various systems (e.g., CRM, e-commerce platform, web analytics tools, ERP, and digital marketing platforms).
    • Identify data gaps and work to implement new tracking and data collection methods to enrich marketing insights.
    • Partner with internal and external legal resources to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication:
    • Partner with marketing channel owners (e.g., Paid Media, SEO, Email, Social Media, Brand), E-commerce, Retail Operations, Merchandising, and Finance teams to align on goals, share insights, and drive integrated strategies.
    • Present complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
    • Act as an internal consultant, providing analytical support and guidance to marketing teams.
  • Mentorship & Development:
    • Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering their analytical and communication skills and professional growth.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing analytics and data science.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with coursework in a quantitative field such as Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or a similar data-driven role, preferably within a multi-channel retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing industry.
    • Proven track record of transforming raw data into actionable insights and measurable business outcomes.
    • Experience with multi-touch attribution modeling and understanding of marketing mix modeling concepts.
    • Demonstrated experience in designing and analyzing A/B tests and other experimental designs.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
    • Expert proficiency in web analytics platforms: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) preferred.
    • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools: Sigma, Tableau, Looker Studio (Google Data Studio), or Power BI.
    • Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Braze, Iterable) and CRM systems (e.g., Sailthru, Salesforce, Zeta).
    • Familiarity with tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager).
    • Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis, data manipulation, or predictive modeling is a significant advantage.
    • Experience with data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) is a plus.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to structure complex problems, extract meaningful insights from large datasets, and develop creative solutions.
    • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and their application in marketing (e.g., statistical significance, regression analysis).
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong data storytelling abilities - can build compelling narratives around data to influence decisions and demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION:
  • $120-150k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.

Employees can enroll in our company's 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full-time employees accrue twenty-one days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
