Overview

Jaunty is seeking a driven and strategic Field Marketing Manager to lead retail execution and in-market activations across New York State. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role oversees a team of six Field Marketing Representatives to deliver merchandising, compliant sampling, menu accuracy, and impactful pop-ups. The Field Marketing Manager will translate brand and marketing plans into clear field actions, ensure retailers feel supported, and surface insights from the field that inform Sales and Marketing strategy. This role is critical in strengthening Jaunty’s presence at retail and building lasting connections with budtenders and consumers.

$90,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the team. Hire, coach, schedule, and ride-along with six FMRs; set weekly priorities and quality standards; deliver clear feedback and development plans.
  • Plan and run pop-ups/events. Calendar in-store events aligned to sales programming; ensure kits, samples, and swag are in place; confirm execution and retailer satisfaction. Plan and execute trade shows and ancillary events (Budtender XPs, sponsored events, etc.)
  • Own field-asset pre-clearance. Review and approve field signage/POS/training materials before use; keep all activations compliant with New York rules.
  • Train retail staff. Create and update training content with central marketing; schedule and track store trainings; reinforce product knowledge with concise leave-behinds. Potentially support future digital training platform.
  • Empower compliant sampling. Enable FMRs to sample trade staff within policy; ensure counts and usage follow internal guidelines.
  • Merchandising & feedback. Guide shelf standards and placements; collect what’s working in market to inform the next wave of assets, swag, and resources. Manage and implement seasonal display refreshes and distribute resources to the team. Execute display planograms produced by Marketing/Branding to the team and adhere to brand standards. Support custom visual merchandising displays with key accounts.
  • Menu audits. Ensure products, naming, and pricing are accurate on retailer sites and in-store menus; request fixes directly with the retailer and CC the Sales Rep; track closure.
  • Partner with Sales. Coordinate account priorities, event support, and follow-ups with Sales Managers; share field insights that help sell-through.
  • Lightweight reporting. Use Headset, Apex (CRM), survey tools, and internal dashboards to summarize activity and outcomes; flag risks early and escalate what needs help.
  • Budget & logistics. Manage field spend (events, swag, samples) and inventory of POS materials; mileage is reimbursed per company policy.

Day-to-Day (Typical Week)

  • Mon: Plan week/month ahead, meet with sales managers and Director of Marketing to review needs and updates
  • Tues: team standup; review priorities, routes, and retailer needs; approve assets; confirm event kits.
  • Tue–Thu/Friday: ride-alongs or store checks; trainings; pop-ups; menu fixes; quick retailer huddles; nightly notes in CRM.
  • Fri: summarize activity; update dashboards; send account notes to Sales; submit next week’s plan and any requests.

Success Metrics & OKRs

  • Coverage & execution
    • ≥ 95% of planned pop-ups executed each month
    • ≥ 90% on-time field asset deployment in priority doors
  • Training impact
    • Train ≥ 50% of staff per door per quarter in priority accounts (track headcount and completions)
  • Menu hygiene
    • ≥ 95% of priority doors with accurate product listings and pricing
    • Median time-to-fix menu issues ≤ 5 business days
    • Field budget within plan; no compliance violations
    • Weekly summary to Sales Managers and Director of Marketing with upcoming events, asks, and resolved issues

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in field or trade marketing, event management, brand representative, or related promotional role.
  • 1+ years experience leading field teams in cannabis or similar regulated CPG; comfortable coaching in-market and setting clear standards
  • Experience in the recreational adult-use cannabis market is preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once and comfortable pivoting plans if needed
  • Strong retailer communication; confident running trainings and pop-ups
  • Working knowledge of NY marketing/field do’s and don’ts; disciplined with pre-clearance
  • Proficient with Headset (or similar), Apex (CRM), spreadsheets, survey tools, and internal dashboards
  • Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and possess a personal vehicle.
  • Must able to travel across NY State approximately 70% of the time
