The Opportunity - Electrician
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, skilled, and highly motivated individual to join our Property Operating Maintenance Team. The Electrician will be responsible for the repairs, maintenance, upkeep, and replacement of the property’s electrical system in accordance with the hotel standards and will assist in other areas of the Engineering department as assigned.
Applications open to Barbadian nationals or persons with permission to reside and work in Barbados.
Summary of Main Duties:
- Operate, maintain, and replace/repair the property’s electrical systems, services, and equipment which include:
- Branch electric circuits.
- Motors.
- Fire alarm systems.
- Appliances.
- Motor control circuits.
- Switches, receptacles, and lighting fixtures.
- Electrical distribution panels.
- Provide lighting and other electrical requirements for banquets and special functions in the hotel.
- Repair and replace all electrical devices, including but not limited to: receptacles, switches, breakers, related panel replacements, feeds, transformers, substations, cables, troughs, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical distribution systems.
- Separate overloaded circuits and balance electrical panel loads.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least one-year experience in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment.
- Working knowledge of health, electrical, federal/local fire codes, and local mechanical codes.
- Working knowledge of power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Working knowledge of blueprints and wiring schematics.
