Ameresco is currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our Operations & Maintenance Team in Washington, DC.

First Shift Position

Monday - Friday 7am-330pm ET

Responsibilities :

Install, maintain, test, and repair : electrical systems as they relate to building systems and all other equipment.

Perform skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems in a number of areas including, heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarm, generator and kitchen equipment.

Read blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to determine efficient installation and repair.

Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of system repair.

Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Two years of industrial electric / electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and / or maintenance of related electrical / electronic equipment.

Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications :

Additional specialized courses, certifications are a plus.

High Voltage experience is preferred.

Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs & transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs.

Ability to routinely climb ladders, walk up and down sloped ramps and work on elevated platforms.

Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

May be required to pass DOT substance testing and / or security clearance investigation.

Will be required for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs.
