Job Description
Ameresco’s Federal Operations & Maintenance Group has a new opportunity for an Electrician that will inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain solar and/or battery storage facilities. This position will be based out of our Ewa Beach, Hawaii project site.
Responsibilities:
- Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, fellow workers, and the public.
- Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings; apply knowledge to daily tasks under supervision.
- Complete written and electronic records (work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) to document work progress and completion.
- Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove, and maintain solar site equipment such as batteries, solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment under supervision.
- Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to ensure proper and safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience related to solar PV or similar electrical/electronic equipment.
- Current Journeyperson Electrician License.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing, issued by the state of residence.
- Ability to review confidential US security information.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Solar PV and Battery Storage systems.
- High Voltage switching experience.
- Understanding of electricity, voltage, and current in AC and DC circuits.
- Ability to complete training and testing requirements successfully.
- Physical ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, and work on ladders for extended periods, often at heights.
- OSHA training and certification.
- Flexibility for travel and on-call support or varied schedules.
- Valid Driver's License issued by the state of residence and in good standing.
