Position Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-conscious installation, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems related to terminal operations. Ensure the work performed meets or exceeds supervisor expectations and complies with policies and procedures.

• Calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on electrical/electronic equipment and components
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical/electronic equipment and components
• Test electrical systems and continuity to ensure safety and compatibility
• Provide training on operation and maintenance of electrical equipment
• Implement improvements and modifications as assigned
• Report and document unusual conditions to supervisory personnel
• Coordinate with manufacturer representatives regarding procedures and requirements
• Complete documentation and maintain maintenance files
• Respond to emergency call outs for maintenance duties
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
• Maintain housekeeping and general maintenance
• Uphold safety standards and attend safety meetings
• Report accidents, incidents, and near misses

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two-year degree or certification in electrical maintenance and/or instrumentation or equivalent experience

Experience / Knowledge:

• Minimum of 5 years in instrumentation/electrical field
• Knowledge of EH&S and Preventive Maintenance procedures
• Understanding of high/medium/low voltage systems and control devices
• Ability to read E&I diagrams
• Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment

Experience with Gottwald cranes is preferred.

Certifications:

• Must obtain and maintain a TWIC
• Journeyman's electrical license

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/electronic equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to work rules

Physical Demands:

• Climb ladders and stairs, work at heights with fall protection
• Lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and kneel

Working Conditions:

• Work inside and outside in all weather conditions
• Availability for all shifts, weekends, and overtime
• Respond to emergency repairs on a 24/7 basis
