Position: Electrician

Shift: 4 x 4 shifts: 6:45am - 7:00pm or 6:45pm - 7:00am

Pay Rate: $39.34 - $42.49; eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus

Location: Columbus, Ohio

While reporting to the Senior Engineer, as an Electrician, you will perform tasks and provide services to support the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Comply with established safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives.
• Support and follow the SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines of the food safety system.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by correcting unsafe acts/conditions, participating in safety meetings, performing safety inspections, and investigating accidents.
• Follow company policies, SOPs, practices, and Sonoco's Global Code of Conduct.
• Install electrical components in equipment such as gas mixers, burners, de-ionized water units, air compressors, and lighting systems.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair electrical equipment, circuits, boards, and devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Identify inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinate resolutions with the supervisor.
• Program PLCs for proper equipment operation.
• Maintain required hand tools and assist in designing or installing plant equipment or procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We'd love to hear from you if:

• You have experience with PLC programming & troubleshooting, HMI, and industrial electrical networking.
• You possess knowledge of equipment, multimeters, circuitry, motors, wiring diagrams, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, and digital devices.
• You understand hazardous material handling, confined space safety, and have basic electrical code knowledge.
• You have a thorough understanding of operating principles of electrical equipment and troubleshooting skills.
• You demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
