Position Summary

The Electrician will inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, circuits, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Test, install, replace, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools according to established specifications.
  2. Test electrical systems and circuit continuity using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety and compatibility.
  3. Record and document repair and maintenance activities.
  4. Diagnose malfunctions, test components, and locate issues to perform repairs.
  5. Install, repair, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, generators, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
  6. Install panels, conduit feeders, branch circuits, devices, and lighting systems.
  7. Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements.
  8. Follow safety procedures including lockout-tagout protocols.
  9. Use blueprints and wiring diagrams for planning and executing electrical work.
  10. Perform electronic duties as required.
  11. Replace bulbs and fuses; repair and install light fixtures.
  12. Use tools such as hacksaws, pipe benders, and screwdrivers; splice wires; install conduit, panel boards, and motors.
  13. Identify and perform preventative maintenance activities.
  14. Replace worn components and assist in training on electrical equipment.
  15. Communicate effectively with plant personnel and identify safety risks.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized project site.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on electrical or maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, prints, and schematics.
  • Proficient with shop equipment and portable power tools.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to electrical tasks.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
