Electrician
Redwood Materials is looking for a motivated and accomplished Journeyman Electrician to join the Facilities Infrastructure Engineering and Construction team to work on all phases of our industrial construction projects. This includes greenfield recycling and production facilities, as well as retrofitting existing operational facilities. Skills in all electrical areas are not necessarily required, but the role involves various electrical disciplines. A strong candidate will perform tasks ranging from distribution power, lighting, and control panels to low voltage systems and fire alarms.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Working as part of the construction team, performing new installations of power distribution, transformers, lighting, temporary construction power, and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC.
  2. Maintaining and troubleshooting various electrical components.
  3. Using complex electrical schematics and blueprints to plan work, install improvements, and troubleshoot problems.
  4. Interpreting manuals, diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics.
  5. Performing a variety of job scopes.
  6. Maintaining a positive attitude and good work ethic aligned with the company's mission and goals.
  7. Completing tasks timely and providing feedback to internal teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of journeyman-level or higher experience in industrial or commercial electrical work.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment.
  • Experience sizing conductors, conduits, and using NEC Code Book.
  • Handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC; medium voltage experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics.
  • Experience installing electrical equipment and modifying circuits.
  • Ability to produce parts lists, work plans, and as-built drawings.
  • Ability to test and commission work per procedures and code.
  • Strong safety awareness and hazard evaluation skills.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 ft.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • A passion for sustainability.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively.
  • Regular, punctual attendance.
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs.; handle objects over 50 lbs.; walk stairs with weight.
  • Clear communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Office or outdoor environments, including inclement weather.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, extreme temperatures.
  • Physical activities such as climbing, standing, stooping, typing.
  • Availability to work weekends, nights, or be on-call.

This is a full-time position with compensation based on experience.
