Salary: $25-36/hour
Job Summary
Goforth Electric is seeking an Electrician for our Brockport, NY location. This full-time role reports to an Electrical Foreman and involves electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance in complex commercial and industrial environments. The position also includes mentoring apprentices. Typical hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime, early starts, nights, weekends, and holidays based on customer demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in compliance with the NEC code
- Perform installations based on layout plans and specifications
- Install conduit, lighting, control systems, motor feeders, and make motor connections
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components
- Inspect systems and components for hazards or defects
- Test electrical systems and circuits for safety and compatibility
- Maintain the work site, tools, and vehicles
- Follow safety procedures, participate in safety audits and talks
- Report unsafe acts or conditions promptly
- Collaborate with team members and mentor less experienced staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety training, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout
- At least 5 years of commercial electrical experience
- State-licensed Journeyperson
- Knowledge of the NEC code
- Reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver’s license without major infractions
