An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or regions. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial / mining equipment
- Install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications
- Ensure that manufacturers' standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
- Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
- Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 5 years electrical maintenance experience
- 3 years experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations (preferred)
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
- Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
- High school graduate
- Associate's degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer literate with ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes; SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand technical manuals, reports, and instructions in English
- Ability to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
Working Conditions
- Exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments
- Must wear protective equipment on site
- Experience with motor control circuits and relay logic troubleshooting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and control pulling
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds constantly
- Frequent communication via talking and hearing to coordinate safely around equipment
- Ability to perform all job functions related to physical exertion and mobility
