Overview


The Electrician - Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining the electrical system infrastructure that ensures a safe and effective manufacturing environment.



Responsibilities



  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, and process controls issues to identify root cause, implement corrective action, and improve efficiency.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair various PLC platforms, VFDs and motion control systems.

  • Troubleshoot and install electrical control circuits based on electrical schematics.

  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement, production strategies, and plant reliability strategies.

  • Create, maintain, and document Preventative Maintenance procedures and processes.



Required Skills & Education



  • Journeyman or LME Oregon Electrical license

  • An equivalent combination of education, out of state certification, and related work experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing or industrial experience required. An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls and power transmission systems.

  • Commitment to working safely.

  • Must be able to work 12.5-hour shifts, including holidays if scheduled

  • Willingness to work overtime and adjust work schedules to accommodate shutdown and other business needs, including working nights, weekends, and off-shifts.



Desired Skills



  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to use trend data and process test equipment.

  • Ability to work independently: high initiative, self-directed and be results oriented.

  • Skills in teamwork and communication including leadership, problem solving, giving, and receiving feedback.
