American Gypsum has been manufacturing, selling, and distributing gypsum wallboard products throughout the United States for 45 years.

We are the fifth largest producer of gypsum wallboard in North America, operating five gypsum plants with an annual capacity approaching four billion square feet of wallboard. We have production plants located in Albuquerque, NM, Bernalillo, NM, Duke, OK, Gypsum, CO and Georgetown, SC.

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and general on-the-spot repairs of the plant's electrical equipment (up to 480 volts) in a safe and efficient manner. We are one team. As such, we require flexibility in job duties.

Compensation: $39.19 - $46.10/hr (dependent on experience, competency, qualifications, and skills).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to pass a basic electrical test

Ability to work safely in all types of conditions

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day; must be able to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally

Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical

  • Must provide own tools

Preferred

General knowledge of power distribution equipment, motors, Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD, VFD), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

Working knowledge of electrical diagrams and circuits

Familiarity with NEC and OSHA regulations

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Rotation:
    • 8 weeks on day shift (4-day work week)
    • 1 week on night shift (6-day work week)
