HVAC Designer
Join Our Design Team – HVAC Focus
Our client is building a design team that serves as the brain behind the complex and intricate systems on their large-scale projects. As the HVAC Designer , you’ll play a key role in shaping airflow distribution, equipment selection, and ductwork layouts to ensure seamless coordination with both mechanical and electrical scopes.
Position Responsibilities
- Modify documents per Project Manager/Estimator and Fab Shop markups
- Export to DWG and other formats for collaboration
- Sketch or model layouts and compute airflow requirements, duct sizes, weights, surface areas, dimensions, tolerances, and clearances
- Apply knowledge of HVAC systems, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete accurate drawings
- Follow Revit standards and procedures
- Participate in Revit/Fabrication/coordination meetings
- Assist during project setup
- Create Spool drawings and coordination documents
- Utilize Lean Construction or Manufacturing principles where applicable
- Collaborate across construction teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of design and coordination experience
- Revit/Navisworks Manage (knowledge of work-sharing, coordination, and modeling)
- AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and Fabrication CADMEP, Trimble VDC Pro+
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Document Management Tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, Autodesk Build, and ACC
- Field experience preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC fabrication methods and processes preferred
