The HR Manager will serve as a key business partner, leading human resource strategies that align with Company's goals. This role will manage core HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, compliance, and performance management, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The HR Manager will support both union and non-union teams and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports to the VP of Human Resources located in Mundelein, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Partner with leadership teams to identify and implement HR strategies that drive business performance.
  • Provide guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Oversee recruitment processes to attract top talent for both union and non-union roles.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs to ensure employee engagement and retention.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and union agreements, fostering positive labor relations.

Compliance and Policy Management:

  • Maintain knowledge of current employment laws and ensure company practices align with legal requirements.
  • Regularly update and communicate HR policies and procedures to employees and leadership.

Performance Management:

  • Oversee the performance review process and support managers in providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop initiatives to recognize and reward outstanding employee contributions.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and implement programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Analyze HR data to track trends and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to leadership teams for data-driven decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including management responsibilities.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or CPG environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with union and non-union workforce management.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including union regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
