Neapco is excited to add a Human Resources Manager to our team. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources and ensuring all strategic and tactical objectives are attained efficiently and effectively. This role serves as a key strategic business partner to the leadership team. It reports functionally to the Vice President, Global Human Resources, and locally to the Plant Manager. The position is based at our Drivelines Facility in Belleville, Michigan. Alignment with Neapco’s Core Values of Partnership, Passion, Agility, Teamwork, Integrity, and Diversity is essential. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description: Human Resources Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the company’s vision, mission, values, and goals in daily activities
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the plant human resources and leadership team
  • Develop team member retention strategies, evaluate morale, and lead appreciation events
  • Manage talent acquisition, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Administer benefit programs, conduct open enrollment, and provide training
  • Oversee performance appraisal systems, train managers, and assist with mentoring and development
  • Conduct training needs assessments and develop training plans
  • Advise management on employee relations issues and resolve grievances
  • Guide labor relations policies and practices, interpret collective bargaining agreements
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations (EEOC, DOL, NLRB, IRS, etc.)
  • Coordinate legal documentation for unemployment hearings
  • Maintain legal compliance of employee records
  • Develop departmental budgets and monitor expenses
  • Track and report HR KPIs
  • Supervise HR staff and conduct performance reviews
  • Build positive relationships with union representatives
  • Partner with Global HR Leadership to establish best practices
  • Communicate and train staff on company initiatives and policies
  • Support social responsibility initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Experience in labor contract negotiations and arbitrations
  • Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, exercise sound judgment
  • Attention to detail and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience with employment leaves (FMLA, ADA, STD)
  • Ability to influence leadership and manage teams
  • Experience fostering engagement and collaboration
  • Discretion handling sensitive information
  • Adaptability, time management, and motivation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred
