LOCATION: American Games and International Gamco

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

What You'll Do

This position is a full-time permanent position in a manufacturing environment which produces charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets), bingo paper and bingo dabbers.

The Human Resource Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring the smooth operation of the HR department. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including managing employee relations, overseeing employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Acting as a bridge between management and employees, the HR Manager ensures compliance and fosters a positive work environment, promptly and effectively addressing any concerns or grievances.

Additionally, the HR Manager handles various administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate employee records, assisting in the development of HR policies and procedures, performance management, and health & safety, all while being a key driver of our culture and core values. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. They also assist in implementing technological solutions to enhance HR process efficiency, ensuring that the department operates smoothly and effectively.

The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. They will have 3-5 years of progressive human resources experience, including hands-on involvement in employee relations, benefits administration, policy implementation, performance management and talent acquisition. Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and a solid understanding of employment law compliance are essential. Experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment is preferred.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Employee Relations

  • Champion an employee-oriented company culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and top performance.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs to enhance workplace morale and productivity.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding grievances, disputes, or clarifications on company policies.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Ensure that employee concerns are addressed promptly and work towards fostering a positive work environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee employee recognition programs, including service awards and retirement celebrations.
  • Spearhead the Social Committee and JCP Committee, ensuring alignment with company culture and employee engagement goals.

Policy Implementation

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across departments.
  • Train managers and supervisors on HR policies, including disciplinary procedures, performance reviews, and leave management.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and escalate issues when necessary.

Performance Management

  • Implement and manage the performance appraisal process to ensure employee performance is aligned with company goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and development.

HR Benefits, Safety, and HR Administration

  • Oversee benefits administration, ensuring employees can enroll in annual benefits plans and receive entitlements, such as leaves, insurance, and other benefits.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of workplace safety programs and initiatives, including safety training, workplace accident investigations.
  • Oversee employee status changes and ensure timely processing.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Support for Organizational Initiatives

  • Assist in the rollout of company-wide initiatives such as engagement surveys, DEI programs, or wellness campaigns.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, town halls, and employee events.

Talent Acquisition

  • Assist with Recruitment and Talent Management.
  • Ensure all recruitment requirements of the company are met and that the best-qualified candidates are sourced (internally and externally) and integrated into the company through the onboarding program.
  • Conducts and participates in new hire orientation training.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of HR and business operations.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR management or HR Business Partner role.
  • Broad knowledge and demonstrated experience in employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, full cycle recruitment, retention and recognition
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • An excellent understanding of employment legislation and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Share Point
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
  • Experience with ADP and HRIS systems preferred
  • Experience practicing HR in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
