Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Skokie, IL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Through our four business groups, DRiV, Performance Solutions, Clean Air and Powertrain, Tenneco is driving advancements in global mobility by delivering technology solutions for diversified global markets, including light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway, industrial, motorsport and the aftermarket.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to serve as a trusted business partner to designated corporate functional groups. This role will support leaders and employees by driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Business Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to corporate function leaders, providing guidance on talent strategy, organizational design, and workforce planning.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution aligned with company policies and legal requirements.
- Talent Management & Development: Support leadership in identifying high-potential employees, succession planning, and driving professional development initiatives.
- Performance Management: Guide managers in setting performance expectations, coaching employees, and executing performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Compensation & Benefits Support: Partner with Total Rewards to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices within supported functions.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Lead change management efforts and initiatives that enhance team effectiveness, engagement, and overall business performance.
- HR Compliance & Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices while mitigating risk.
- HR Metrics & Reporting: Utilize data analytics to provide insights and recommendations on workforce trends, retention, and engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a corporate or business partnership role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to partner with business leaders, influence decisions, and drive HR strategies that impact business outcomes.
- Experience with performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives forward.
