Position Overview
Baby2Baby is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to join our team. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting all aspects of HR across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a broad knowledge of HR best practices, help develop and execute people strategies, ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and foster a culture aligned with our mission.
The Human Resources Manager will work Monday-Friday at 5830 W. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016. The work is performed in an office setting and is currently on site 3 – 5 days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with the Senior Director to develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies, systems, and procedures.
- Supports full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding, ensuring alignment with Baby2Baby’s mission and culture.
- Oversees and enhances the onboarding experience to set new hires up for long-term success.
- Ensures compliance with labor laws, industry standards, and internal policies; maintains up-to-date employee handbook and manages required employee trainings including safety and anti-harassment.
- Provides insight into employment issues and legal updates.
- Supports benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and employee questions.
- Coordinates with the payroll administrator to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing.
- Supports the state registration processes for new locations and ensures compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Assists in managing the annual performance review and compensation cycle, including market data collection and tracking.
- Supports staff meetings, employee engagement initiatives, and staff appreciation efforts.
- On-site involvement at Baby2Baby events, distributions, etc. Some events may occur on the weekend.
- Perform additional HR-related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR).
- Familiarity with multi-state HR compliance and operations.
- Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-based organization.
This role’s salary range is between $70-$90k/yr. Actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
